My Story: From Auditor to SME Champion

My journey began in the world of internal audit, where I quickly discovered a passion for helping organisations strengthen their foundations and navigate complex challenges. Over the years, I’ve worked with a diverse range of clients—from universities and NHS trusts to charities, housing associations, and private enterprises. Each role taught me the importance of integrity, adaptability, and clear communication.

But it was a pivotal project that truly shaped my approach: helping a new start-up build a live fire training centre from the ground up. This wasn’t just about ticking boxes—it was about strategic planning, risk identification, financial management, compliance, project development, and even chairing meetings. I found myself drawing on every skill I’d ever learned, and realised how much I loved supporting businesses through their most exciting (and sometimes daunting) transitions.

As a parent to two neurodivergent children, I’ve also learned the value of empathy, patience, and creative problem-solving. These qualities have become central to my work, allowing me to connect with clients on a personal level and offer support that’s both practical and genuinely caring.
